Little Big Web Design

New Website Launched for Bournemouth Youth Football League

It all started here

A few years ago I was the club secretary of a local football club playing in the Bournemouth Youth League. I also coached a team and was involved in a project with the FA to increase girls participation.

I had a keen interest in technology having worked as a business analyst for many years on digital and software projects. As a result, i was a natural volunteer to run the clubs website.

I established a good relationship with the Bournemouth League and became their technical advisor.

I helped the league move to an online system for player registration and league administration.

I realised that perhaps the league could benefit from a website to help them communicate with clubs, players and sponsors. After a few discussions to establish how this might benefit the league I quoted for the project.

I created the initial site and it was a hit from the off. During the first few weeks the site was attracting over a 1000 weekly visits. Sunday’s being the busy day with the results tables being updated in real-time.

In 2020 i updated the website to improve the look and feel as well as the performance. This also involved changing the hosting to a higher performing solution.

The website continues to be a key hub for the clubs to get the latest news and view league tables and fixtures.
